Braise Teaser

I got this teaser wrong. How about you?

A binary cell is put in a bottle and it take one minute to split into two; it fills up the whole bottle in an hour.

How long will it take if 2 binary cells are put into the same size bottle to be filled up?

Afternoon and Evening

Do you prefer weather like this:

where the sun shines mercilessly from a cloudless sky and causes your shirt to cling to your back, drenched in perspiration?

Or do you prefer this:

where the sun is slowly retreating through the clouds casting a golden hue?

I guess many prefer the latter but from photography-wise, the former always gives the sharper, more vivid and living feeling..

Camera & Insurance

I am wondering when would we need an insurance for our cameras or when would insurance companies spot this opportunity. More and more people are spending an exorbitant amount of money on cameras. *cool*

Streamyx Sucks

Last night, when I was so excited uploading my outing pictures, suddenly my internet connection disconnected! WTH!

Ms Streamyx is so moody, she always likes to jump off when people get high, and then come back to meet you when you have been so frustrated fixing the line, plugging in and out, restarting router, repairing your connection...

And I wonder if this Ms Streamyx is too fat, she runs ridiculously slow! I don't think she is fat or what, but more to our Malaysian style, LAZY, no training!

CRAP!!!!

I'm just writing to vent my frustration and disappointment over this Ms Streamyx last night... *grin*

eat = fat

Just realize eat and fat are from the same keys in mobile phone... Indeed they are positively related, if not exponentially!

Exam Fool?

Am I the exam fool? I just realize we only need to study notes and tutorial well in order to pass score well. *wry smile*

Being down-to-earth is the most stupid attitude that I should never adopt....

Less Fat Never Tastes Good

As the title tells, I realize that any food which is less in concentration never tastes good, be it less in sugar or less in fat.

I'm a tuna lover (those who know me well know it), and last weekend I bought this 30% less fat tuna, thinking, well, for every serving I have, I will have 30% less fat consumed (I need it badly considering my size)!

From an actuary's view, that is a BIG figure.

But

....

....

I simply found it lack of something compared to all tuna I have normally. And finally I found out it's nothing less, but the flavor!!!

That's why I really agree with the cliche in financial world - there is no free lunch!!!

Time

Time is seriously running out!

It's just 18 days before my two external papers. And not forgetting there are three internal tests a few days before my external exams.

I'm sorry that I could not blog on the Pangkor Trip Day 2 and Day 3.

This short sem is indeed stressing, but I will not let it to stress me, I will only stretch myself to my maximum to keep a constant and quick pace to finish this sem. I will treat this as a marathon but not a sprint, so there will only be stretching but no stressing.

God bless me please...

I believe He always is... Haha...

Something I Never Attempt

Sunrise or sunset?

I don't blame you if you can't tell if it is sunrise or sunset, the picture itself is quite deceptive (due to my helluva lousy Motorola V3XX attached camera).

Darn... I really need a bloody 12.2MPs camera with those sophisticated features! Saving money for it now...

Mayhem Caused by Assignments, Tests, Presentation

Short talk: I'm typing this out in a state of dead tiredness like zombie... I wish to sleep, but simply I just couldn't sleep... Yea, I can't sleep when I'm worn out.

Tonnes of tests and assignments nearly suffocate me. Luckily after the presentation this afternoon, I will get a very short break of a few days before hopping on to prepare for another big test. For the first time in these two years, I understand what is "busy"! Heck! I can proudly say nothing much can actually torture me, because I can handle pressure well =P But definitely not this semester, I've been too lackadaisical since the very beginning. So I have to grasp for air the night before assignment deadline and test, and grimace after the tests. (You know what was my performance then).

Yea, my presentation of "Should Capital Punishment be Abolished" was finally over. Phew... But seriously my room was over too... It's like a disaster aftermath! *sob*

I'm a forgetful person, so I ought to put everything I need in front of me, if not, for sure, I can't find it when I need it. So I nicely arranged dumped all the presentation material I need on the table until no more space left, then I threw them to the floor when I finished reading or using them.

Actually there is another big stack of books and paper,
didn't capture it.

For sure, bookshelf is something not so useful for me.... If the book is exigent in use, it will definitely appear on my table or my bed. *grin*

It doesn't mean all these books are useless la, they are treasure for me, but just not in a need for me right now. I will use them from time to time too.

Have a look of my table. *sweat*

Wonder why it's full of biscuit wrapper?

Recently I'm addicted to munching on biscuit
when I'm studying, or online-ing.

Actually it's not a problem to eat biscuit during studying time as a habit right? But the problem is I'm so lazy to throw the wrapper into the dustbin, and so I slide them nicely between my computer peripheral cable. =P (See another side of dirty Jess =P)

Oh ya, I nearly forgot this entry is to talk about my presentation today. Heck. I flunk it!!! I prepared it during last weekend. I thought I had enough material for me to draft a nice speech. Heck when I was to start writing my speech, only to realize I lacked of this and that. Heck! And so I went online to have a more thorough research on the topic. Finally I finished it on Saturday night together with the speech. It was 3am that time, and so I told myself to practise the speech on the next day. However, my teammates asked me to do the opening video clip as they did not know how to do it. And surely, as a nice person, I agreed. I started looking for related pictures and music (thanks Ken). He gave me a very nice soundtrack. Finally I got the video clip done in two hours without any touching, sad, or related words/phrases between the pictures. Firstly I had no time to think anymore, secondly I was lazy to add in. Well, I felt sleepy after doing the video clip, so I went for a nap. Then at night when I took out my speech to start memorizing, I found it was too lengthy. We needed to allocate time for audience to bombard me. So I wrote my speech over again. And cut some of my points too. That time it was already 9pm. Then again I was sleepy, I went for a nap. I though for sure I could wake up at 2am to memorize the speech. Heck I woke up at 5am!!! And I had class on 9.30am!!! So without wasting anytime I started memorizing it. I got it done by 8am. And so I got myself done and went to campus. I didn't practise at all when I was in campus. I could hardly feel my jaw anymore as I read the speech over and over in the morning.

Time slowly crept away and finally it was 1.30pm. It was our Critical Reading and Thinking tutorial, which meant it was time for us to present. Kind of excited as I just hoped to get it over as soon as possible. One by one of my teammates (two actually) finished presenting as at last it was my turn. My teammates presented quite well I would say. When it was my turn, I didn't know why I referred to the paper so much. And I hardly could open my mouth too (perhaps my mouth was too tired). And I was so thirsty (due to the salty lunch earlier on) that time, it made me so uncomfortable when I delivered my speech. *sweat* I'm blaming this and that, but I actually should blame myself. @@

We got it done in one hour which was surprisingly short, we expected we would not finish it within one and the half hour. This was partly because the lecturer didn't bombard us much and the coursmates too didn't ask much. Until the lecturer urged them to ask, then only some started to ask. The Q&A session finished in 15 minutes. The lecturer then dismissed the class. Before leaving she said our presentation was good. I assumed for sure she was not referring me. =.=|| Actually I liked this topic so much, yet I just could not deliver what I wished. *disappointed* Anyhow I just wished to get slightly better mark. The lecturer said up to last week, the average, students scored was just 8-9/15! *sweat* And not to forget the first assignment, averagely the lecturer just gave 9-10/20 (though she said she gave one person 20/20)!!! Which means it is a high possibility I would just get 17/35 (another 5 marks is class participation)!!! Which as well to mean A is already not in my hand!!! *sweat* I just dare not to imagine much.... =.=|| Now I just pray hard the lecturer will give me slightly higher than average marks (which I think I don't really deserve it). We are allowed to bring in dictionary to exam hall during final exam as according to the lecturer, given with the dictionary, students still can't manage to answer. SCARY!!! I really dare not imagine further.

...

...

...

The end of grumble.

...

...

...

Today I got back two test paper, I was quite delightful actually as I scored higher than what I expected. Got 15.4/20 for Linear Algebra (I expected 10/20 for it) and 13.6/17 for Probability.

....

....

...

Another beginning of grumble.

...

...

...

What I'm worrying now is the Calculus last week, I might get 0/25 for it!!! I really hoped for re-test!!! I was too sick that time and I did last minute studying too...

This semester is too scary.......

First Outing With Shane Since He Came Subang

Last Saturday when I chatted with Shane, my bosom friend, on MSN, he told me he was going to buy train ticket to go back this coming Saturday. Then suddenly he asked me if I wanted to meet him. That time it was 2pm. As I'm scared and don't like hot weather, I suggested him to buy the ticket the next day then we meet up. It had been such a long time I didn't go out lepak lepak (roaming). He agreed and we decided to meet at Petaling Street (Shane's favourite shopping place =.=||). At first I wanted to go MidValley to buy my sweater, but Shane said there are many nice sweaters in Petaling Street, some more they are cheap. For your info, Shane is a good bargainer. And so I agreed, at the same time I thought of trying Asam Laksa there too. Again it had been a long time I didn't go back hometown, no chance to eat my favourite food- Asam Laksa and Ais Kacang!

The next day I woke up at nine. At about 10am, Shane smsed me telling me that he might be late. At that time, I was still at home, so I went out 15 minutes later, for your info I don't like to wait, I'm too impatient. Guess what? After I was in the bus for about 10 minutes, Shane smsed me telling me he reached Petaling Street already. *sweat* I couldn't reply him as my mobilephone credit had expired. That time I was at Bangsar only, needed another 15 minutes to reach Petaling Street. At last Shane called me, and I told him I would be late (I still thought that I would reach on time the night before =.=). He told me he was waiting at Hong Leong Bank.

When I reached Pudu, I didn't see any sight of Shane around Hong Leong Bank area. It was 11am that time, I was half an hour late. =.=|| Punctuality is never my second nature. *sweat* I quickly topped up my credit and called Shane asking where was him. Then he only told me he was at Hong Leong Bank inside Petaling Street. I didn't know there is a Hong Leong Bank inside Petaling Street, I just knew there is one right in front of Petaling Street. =.=|| It seemed like this outing made me "sweat" a lot.

Finally got to see Shane. =.=|| Caught a shock when I saw him, his hair style was much different. He is more handsome now, doesn't have the nerdy look anymore. *grin* I think he would be floating amidst the air when he read this.

My pathetic phone camera
couldn't take a clear picture
when the subject is on motion
@@

Shane in action

We walked and walked, and managed to buy T-shirts in less than 10 minutes. =.=|| Shane is really a good bargainer, the white shirt (the last one available) contained a tiny spot of stain, he then used this excuse to bargain with the seller again. *grin* Finally he managed to reduce the price from RM 18 to RM13. *bow*

Later on, we focused our mission on looking for my sweater. We saw one, and Shane managed to get the price of RM30. But he suggested to look for a few more, it might be cheaper. We then went back to the first stall we bought the shirt, the seller gave the price of RM70!! *sweat* Again Shane bargained with him, he finally reduced the price to RM35, but we didn't buy from him, we bought from the one who offered us RM30.

My sweater only at RM30

While we were walking, we saw pan kuih, at the same time, we asked each other if wanted to try it. *sweat* I like to eat pan kuih too (Kynne knows this well), have been trying it from places to places. Never try those in Singapore yet, I once watched Travelogue Show recommending it. Ought to visit Ms Kong to ask her bring me to eat. *smile* The one we ate was average only. Shane then continued his hunt for shirts and pants. *sweat* He purposely saved the money on train ticket to buy more shirts. =.=||

We walked till 1pm, then we headed for our lunch. Needless to say, we ordered ais kacang, aka abc and Asam Laksa. The ais kacang was normal only but the Laksa was quite nice. Too bad it was too salty, I wonder if the salt was free. =.=|| Anyway, it still managed to sweep away my longing of going back hometown (a bit only la, but little is better than none right?).

Good to quench our thirst during the
hot day

...

My favourite!!!

Curse Shane for his 3.2MPs phone camera
and good photography skill,
made the laksa looked even more
mouth-watering

Shane then resumed his hunting for shirts and pants. He managed to grab three shirts and a pair of pants. After that, we made our way to Mydin which is just a stone's throw away from Petaling Street to get some daily necessities. Mydin was full of Malays. =.=|| And it only had 2 cashier counters in each floor with a very very long queue. However, the things there are really reasonable, to the extent they are cheap. I bought ten pieces of hangars, two bottle of bleaches (in one package) and two row of tissues paper for only RM8. Pathentically and bloody cheap right?

At the time of 3pm, Shane sent me to catch the bus (he insisted to send me while I was more worried about him, as this was the first he came here to study, scared he boarded the wrong bus=.=|| he was quite blurred at times).

We then headed home separately.

This was really a nice outing indeed seeing that I didn't meet Shane for a long time and I didn't go out to recharge myself for a long time too. I like roaming one. My hobby.

I hope to go Petaling Street at night as I was told there are many delicious snack food at night!!! Sadly Petaling Street is too dangerous to go at night plus I don't have my own transportation. Reallt inconvenient man...

p/s: I know this entry is boring. Sorry

Funny Thought in A Routine Day

As I notice, we tend to praise ourselves, our possession, our family, our course, our university, our partner, everything relating to ourselves. For example, nobody would say his doggie is ugly, or disgusting (may say so when he is about to dump his doggie aside). We would always say how lovable, adorable, smart, mischievous our doggie is.

Why?

Because we have already accept its imperfect as perfectly as we could?

Vote Vote Vote

The heat of election is never subduing, instead it is getting hotter and hotter. By the age of 19 and to be 20 this April, I'm still not eligible to vote for our country coming 12th General Election which falls on March 8, 2008. Luckily, my idol blogger, kennysia is giving everyone of us a chance to vote, be it a warm-up or for fun like me.

After answering kennysia's questionnaire, kennysia.com Who-To-Vote-For-This-Election Decision Generator says that I should vote for the following party.

According to the 100% accurate kennysia.com Who-To-Vote-This-Election Decision Generator™, I am voting for...

DEMOCRATIC ACTION PARTY!

Who Should You Vote For This Election?

Anyway I'm here not to persuade, pester or convince you who to vote, I'm here just to encourage you all, those who are eligible of course to really be a responsible citizen and to vote wisely.

Double Expresso? Viagra?

When you're dead exhausted like a zombie, and the work you've at hand tells you that you just can't dump it aside and hide under your blanket and sleep like nothing happens.

When you've to analyze this alien from in to out,
and at last master it within a limited duration,
can you go and sleep like an irresponsible bastard?

So, when things hit deadlines, people will go for coffee (as thick as possible, whole bottle of coffee bean with one small cup of water :P), energy pills (which I was told it is sold for RM50, but I couldn't get the source), viagra (nah, I'm not a sex maniac okay, doctors will actually prescribe viagra pills to weak people whose organs like heart couldn't function, but my organs have no problem, so forget about it), luckily I found the below one to save me for years.

Chicken essence with ginseng

Sadly, it just worked for the mere few years, now it did not work for me anymore =.=

Then my mum suggested me to drink this:

Sliced American Ginseng to be dipped into water

However, as I said, I'm running out of time most of the time, so I go for this:

Just swallow it with water,
it will keep me alert for at least half a day

I learned that overdose of any type of ginseng has no adverse effects to our body, but I also don't have so much money to have an overdose of it la =.=

This couple is my savior now :P

Ciao....

Resume my work....

I'm Addicted to...

Gosh, I'm addicted to morphine blogging.... Should I cherish about it? *smile*

Happy Chinese New Year 2008

2008 is a year of rat or mouse (if you like to call it), but definitely not a year of hamster, right? As far as I know, there are twelves Chinese zodiac signs represented by different animals, rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar. And until now, I think there is no new animal to take over rat. Correct me if I'm wrong. But this year, as the year of rat, many actually mistakenly take hamster as rat in the decorations.

Tell me if the one being circled
is not a hamster

Besides, something has puzzled me for years. Why most of the CNY decorations in word are upside down? What does that mean in particularly?

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year 2008!!! Be the new year full of joy, health and wealth!!!

@#$ D0Nt PUnCh M3 Wh3N Y0U R3@D TH!$ &*!

I get easily exhausted recently. But I get more exhausted when I have to read @#$%^ type of wording when the caption, phrase, sentence is not short!!

It's fine if you put ~Ҝ£¢Ҝ~ in your banner and as your tagline. Afterall it just took less than 2 seconds to realize what are the four alphabets. It's kind of artistic decoration, so it's still okay.

But when you read this "sAnTa ClAUs Is COmInG tO ToWn", it surely takes another jiffies for a worn-out person to get the message. It's still fine and bearable. Afterall it doesn't have those special symbol like @, £, etc

But when you see this
"~H~E~L~L~O~I~ A~M J~E~S~S~"
Tell me how many seconds you take to digest it?

If the above one is bad, how is the following one?
"{A}(D){D} (M)[E] {I} [A]*m* {J}[E](S){S}"
Tell me how many seconds you take for this one?

If the above is worse, how is the following one?
"{@}(D){D} (M)[3] {I} [@] {Ҝ}[£](¢)<Ҝ>"
Tell me how many centuries you take for this one?

I'm totally worn out after typing this out... Perhaps I should appreciate those artistic people who actually take the 'effort' to decorate their writing. *Drum rolls* Cheers for them @.@
