Mayhem Caused by Assignments, Tests, Presentation

Short talk: I'm typing this out in a state of dead tiredness like zombie... I wish to sleep, but simply I just couldn't sleep... Yea, I can't sleep when I'm worn out.

Tonnes of tests and assignments nearly suffocate me. Luckily after the presentation this afternoon, I will get a very short break of a few days before hopping on to prepare for another big test. For the first time in these two years, I understand what is "busy"! Heck! I can proudly say nothing much can actually torture me, because I can handle pressure well =P But definitely not this semester, I've been too lackadaisical since the very beginning. So I have to grasp for air the night before assignment deadline and test, and grimace after the tests. (You know what was my performance then).

Yea, my presentation of "Should Capital Punishment be Abolished" was finally over. Phew... But seriously my room was over too... It's like a disaster aftermath! *sob*

I'm a forgetful person, so I ought to put everything I need in front of me, if not, for sure, I can't find it when I need it. So I nicely arranged dumped all the presentation material I need on the table until no more space left, then I threw them to the floor when I finished reading or using them.

Actually there is another big stack of books and paper,
didn't capture it.

For sure, bookshelf is something not so useful for me.... If the book is exigent in use, it will definitely appear on my table or my bed. *grin*

It doesn't mean all these books are useless la, they are treasure for me, but just not in a need for me right now. I will use them from time to time too.

Have a look of my table. *sweat*

Wonder why it's full of biscuit wrapper?

Recently I'm addicted to munching on biscuit
when I'm studying, or online-ing.

Actually it's not a problem to eat biscuit during studying time as a habit right? But the problem is I'm so lazy to throw the wrapper into the dustbin, and so I slide them nicely between my computer peripheral cable. =P (See another side of dirty Jess =P)

Oh ya, I nearly forgot this entry is to talk about my presentation today. Heck. I flunk it!!! I prepared it during last weekend. I thought I had enough material for me to draft a nice speech. Heck when I was to start writing my speech, only to realize I lacked of this and that. Heck! And so I went online to have a more thorough research on the topic. Finally I finished it on Saturday night together with the speech. It was 3am that time, and so I told myself to practise the speech on the next day. However, my teammates asked me to do the opening video clip as they did not know how to do it. And surely, as a nice person, I agreed. I started looking for related pictures and music (thanks Ken). He gave me a very nice soundtrack. Finally I got the video clip done in two hours without any touching, sad, or related words/phrases between the pictures. Firstly I had no time to think anymore, secondly I was lazy to add in. Well, I felt sleepy after doing the video clip, so I went for a nap. Then at night when I took out my speech to start memorizing, I found it was too lengthy. We needed to allocate time for audience to bombard me. So I wrote my speech over again. And cut some of my points too. That time it was already 9pm. Then again I was sleepy, I went for a nap. I though for sure I could wake up at 2am to memorize the speech. Heck I woke up at 5am!!! And I had class on 9.30am!!! So without wasting anytime I started memorizing it. I got it done by 8am. And so I got myself done and went to campus. I didn't practise at all when I was in campus. I could hardly feel my jaw anymore as I read the speech over and over in the morning.

Time slowly crept away and finally it was 1.30pm. It was our Critical Reading and Thinking tutorial, which meant it was time for us to present. Kind of excited as I just hoped to get it over as soon as possible. One by one of my teammates (two actually) finished presenting as at last it was my turn. My teammates presented quite well I would say. When it was my turn, I didn't know why I referred to the paper so much. And I hardly could open my mouth too (perhaps my mouth was too tired). And I was so thirsty (due to the salty lunch earlier on) that time, it made me so uncomfortable when I delivered my speech. *sweat* I'm blaming this and that, but I actually should blame myself. @@

We got it done in one hour which was surprisingly short, we expected we would not finish it within one and the half hour. This was partly because the lecturer didn't bombard us much and the coursmates too didn't ask much. Until the lecturer urged them to ask, then only some started to ask. The Q&A session finished in 15 minutes. The lecturer then dismissed the class. Before leaving she said our presentation was good. I assumed for sure she was not referring me. =.=|| Actually I liked this topic so much, yet I just could not deliver what I wished. *disappointed* Anyhow I just wished to get slightly better mark. The lecturer said up to last week, the average, students scored was just 8-9/15! *sweat* And not to forget the first assignment, averagely the lecturer just gave 9-10/20 (though she said she gave one person 20/20)!!! Which means it is a high possibility I would just get 17/35 (another 5 marks is class participation)!!! Which as well to mean A is already not in my hand!!! *sweat* I just dare not to imagine much.... =.=|| Now I just pray hard the lecturer will give me slightly higher than average marks (which I think I don't really deserve it). We are allowed to bring in dictionary to exam hall during final exam as according to the lecturer, given with the dictionary, students still can't manage to answer. SCARY!!! I really dare not imagine further.

The end of grumble.

Today I got back two test paper, I was quite delightful actually as I scored higher than what I expected. Got 15.4/20 for Linear Algebra (I expected 10/20 for it) and 13.6/17 for Probability.

Another beginning of grumble.

What I'm worrying now is the Calculus last week, I might get 0/25 for it!!! I really hoped for re-test!!! I was too sick that time and I did last minute studying too...

This semester is too scary.......

We need a normal human life..
Sleep and wake up at normal hour, but not in the wee hours..

But can we?

Hello, I beg your pardon... You're not human then...

How I wish I could be there to "witness" your presentation.... ;)
I am interested at the topic as well.

Yea quite a nice topic, too bad, there was little interaction between speakers and audience, which we never expected. =.=||

Never mind Jess, the presentation somehow matured you in various ways..

You should appreciate what you have learned during the process, but not the outcome.. :)

Yea, I gained quite a lot throughout the preparation... Anyway the lecturer said it was good... We are the only second group she praised... *smile*
